Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, television personality, philanthropist and also the proprietor and editor of The Huffington Post. She moved from Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and obtained a MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it before the age of 21. When she graduated, she made her name as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice portal which gave critical opinions about the current political climate. The fame of Arianna helped to attract several prominent contributors to share their views on current events political, culture and politics. Arianna became famous when she made the decision to stand as an independent candidate for the California recall election in order to succeed the then governor Davis. In addition, she led an Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. Forbes declared her to be one of the "most powerful women" in media with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most influential media people in 2009. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made the president of that media company, which also included a number of then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was a management consultant and journalist. While she was very close to her father it was the relationship she shared with her mother which shaped her life. When she was a teen she demonstrated leadership skills that she still is known for. When she was 16 she moved into the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the third female to be elected president. She graduated in 1972 with a master's degree in Economics. After after graduation she worked as a critic columnist and television host. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She started writing books, taking his help in editing.
