Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a writer from Greece, a syndicated columnist as well as a businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host as well as the founder and editor of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England together with her family around age 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the renowned debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student to do so. When she graduated, she made her mark as columnist in the conservative syndicated media as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched a voice-based website that offered critical observations on the political scenario. In part, her fame led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna was first noticed when she ran in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. In addition to this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Her name was voted as the most Popular Women in Media according to Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th spot on that list. The same year, the Guardian named her on the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she became president of the media company. The acquisition included a number of AOL properties of the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. Although she had a close relationship to her father, her connection with her mother shaped the remainder of her life. At a young age she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which she's still known. In the year she turned 16, she moved from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she joined the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first female president and only foreign president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master's in Economics. She worked as a critic as well as a host on TV and columnist upon her graduation. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
