Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Born in Winnipeg and brought up in Wellington Paquin has made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11 which made her the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin born July 24 on the 24th of July in 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster for the Best Supporting Actress award for portraying the inquisitive and talkative child of Holly Hunter's principal part as Holly Hunter in The Piano. Her family moved to New Zealand when she was a small child and she lived there for the rest of her life. When she answered an open request for auditions her name was picked in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of a muted Scottish piano player who moves into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to get married. At the time, she was nine, and she had no previous experience as an actor. At the age of 17, Paquin was able to move to the United States. Paquin was the child title in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. Also, she was the title part on the screen in Fly Away Home, a film from the same year. Paquin did a brief appearance in the TV film of 1997 adapting Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in the film, she portrayed the queen of Spain as a minor character. She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) as well as the polexia Aphrodisa groupie in Almost Famous (2000).
